1. Application for becoming a Kokuhi international students
A graduate degree student or a candidate or an undergraduate student who
expects to become a fourth year student may apply to be accepted as a
Kokuhi international students from April. The number is limited but there
are certain recipients each year. The scholarship amounts are the same
as stated above. (The Student Exchange Division)
2. Gakushu Shoreihi or Study Promotion Scholarships
A Shihi international student who needs financial assistance and is achieving
academic excellence may be awarded this scholarship upon evaluative screening.
The award term is one year and the amounts are as the following (as of
2001) . Those who qualify can apply. Those who receive the Josuikai scholarships
do not qualify. (The Student Exchange Division)
- Undergraduate degree students, 52,000yen/mo
- Graduate degree students and research students, 73,000yen/mo
(Remarks) The recipient who leaves Japan at the beginning of the month
through the end of the month shall not receive the scholarship for the
month.
3. Josuikai Scholarship
This is Hitotsubashi University's own scholarship system and it is awarded
to students who need financial assistance upon qualification screenings.
The award period is one year beginning in April. The scholarship amounts
are as the following as of 2001. However, those who receive the Study
Promotional Scholarships do not qualify. Therefore, the screening begins
after other recipients are announced. Please take a note that the number
of applicants is rapidly increasing and the probability of winning the
award is decreasing. (Student Exchange Division)
- Undergraduate degree students, 45,000yen/mo
- Graduate degree students and research students,65,000yen/mo
4. Scholarships offered by non-governmental organizations
Non-governmental scholarships are of two kinds: the University introduces
one kind and the other applied directly by student applicants. The former
is of a high probability of winning the award although it is not guaranteed.
